Every SNAP participant enrolled in B'more Fresh will receive $30 per month for 6 months to spend on fresh and frozen fruits and vegtables, however each retailer will run their own unique incentive program. Retailers such as Giant and Safeway will be utilizing coupon codes. To see a description and step by step instructions of each retailer's distinct incentive program, see below.

 

How to use your incentive with Giant

SNAP participants that prefer to buy groceries through Giant Foods will receive $15 off select SNAP EBT fruit & vegetable participating products on pickup or delivery orders. Participants will be emailed a link to Giant's website that contains the B'more Fresh coupon code. You must apply this coupon code at checkout while supplies last. Limit 2 redemptions per household each calendar month.

Note: Participants are encouraged to use the entire $15 incentive in one purchase, any remaining funds will be forefeitted. For example: If participants only have $10 worth of qualifying fruits and vegetables in their cart, the remaining $5 can not be used in a future purchase. Order calculation excludes non-SNAP EBT qualifying products including alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, postage stamps and any other purchases prohibited by law. Offer not transferable or valid with any other offer. Standard delivery fees apply. See step-by-step instructions below.

Step-by-Step instructions:

  1. Create an account on Giantfood.com and set up a new Giant rewards card.  This will require your email address, physical address, and phone number
  2. Add groceries and SNAP eligible items to the cart. 
  3. Once you have added all grocery items proceed to check out
  4. Enter zip code to find a Giant near you that offers delivery 
  5. Enter credit or debit card information 
  6. Click ‘Add EBT/SNAP’ button to apply SNAP benefits
  7. Visit https://giantfood.com/pages/snap-ebt-baltimore to copy the B'more Fresh incentive code
  8. Paste or type the B'more Fresh incentive code in the promo code box underneath the total calculations

How to use your incentive with Safeway 

SNAP participants that prefer to buy groceries through Safeway will receive their B’more Fresh incentive in their Safeway loyalty account on the 1st of each month. Safeway will provide program participants with six $5 coupons (totaling $30) that will expire at the end of the month. SNAP participants may be invited via store receipt, email promotion, or loaded into their loyalty account at random.  Note that for now Safeway only offers curbside pick-up. See step-by-step instructions below: 

Step-by-Step instructions:

  1. Go to Safeway.com to sign in or create a loyalty account. This requires an email address and phone number
  2. On the top right corner of the screen click “My Account”. Then click “Wallet” 
  3. Add your SNAP/EBT card information and/or your credit debit card information
  4. Next use the store locator to find your nearest Safeway
  5. Add groceries and B'more Fresh eligible items to your cart
  6. Once you have added all grocery items proceed to the “Shop” tab on the navigation banner 
  7. After selecting “Shop” a side menu will appear, click “deals” 
  8. Once on the “Deals” page another side menu will appear, click “Coupons and Deals” 
  9. On the “Coupons and Deals” page, the $5 B’more Fresh incentive will be under the “Recommended for U” section
  10.  Press the “Clip Coupon” green button to add the incentive to your order. 
    1. Note: Through Safeway you can add up to 6 $5 incentives for your order. Your allotment for the entire month is $30 
    2. Note: Clicking on the B’more Fresh incentive coupon will show all eligible fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables
  11. Once you have added the amount of incentives you would like to use, proceed to check out. You do not have to use SNAP funds to use the B’more Fresh incentive, but you must have a SNAP card added to your Safeway loyalty wallet
